Team Freedom will be participating in our 12th parade in Branson this year!
Several things are changing this year, except for the date, November 11, of course. Since our group gets a little larger every year, we will meeting and carpooling on Saturday, November 11 at 8 am at the Shell Knob Shrine Club (28149 Big Rock Rd, Shell Knob, Missouri 65747). Any local men and ladies wanting a ride to Branson will need to meet there at 8 am. The Convention Center is booked with another event that day so the Committee and City officials have changed the staging area for the parade. We are doing a recon mission to Branson tomorrow to determine the best location for Team Freedom members that are coming from other locations to meet, park and join up with the group. We will post an update on Thursday.
After the parade, everyone is invited back to the Shrine Club for our annual Chili & Hot Dog luncheon. Tea and water will be available and the Shrine Club's bar will be open for you to purchase a cocktail or soda. You are also welcome to bring a cooler to the Club with your own drinks.
We will also send out an email later this week with maps to the Shrine Club, staging area and parade route. Stay tuned and let's hope for great weather this year!!

LOOKS LIKE 10 DAYS BEFORE  WE KNOW OUR POSITION..
WILL UP DATE WHEN THEY LET ME KNOW ..BUCK
Sorry I have not been at the helm for a long while my health took a dive for awhile. Look to be more attentive from now on.

Take care,
Bill W.
From the Parade Director.

Hello All,

Due to the fact that the manager of the convention center is not very veteran friendly, he booked a big convention on veterans day, we will have to make some adjustments on staging areas and staging sequencing.  Since we no longer have the parking lot of the convention center to stage the participants in, we are looking at our options.  Enclosed are just a few that we are kicking around and as we get closer to the deadline for applicants, we will know more.  thank you for your understanding and patience.  If you have already sent in your application, thank you.  If not, remember the application must be postmarked no later than October 15th.  Any after that will not be allowed in the parade.

FLAG DAY

As we have already learned, the Flag of the United States of America was born almost a year after the Declaration of Independence. The Stars and Stripes to which we pledge allegiance was authorized on
SUNDAY,
June 14, 1777 . Just as we celebrate the birth of independence on July 4th each year, the people of our Nation celebrate the birth of our Flag every year on June 14th. That special holiday is called:

FLAG DAY

Plans Underway for Branson's Veterans Week in 2013

Plans are already being made for Branson Veterans Week 2013.  The event, which is planned for November 5-11, 2013, will feature dozens of events honoring the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.

So far, plans are underway to bring back the Veterans Village and Welk Resort will once again host the Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.  The opening ceremony show – “Vets for Vets” – will also return, but at new time, 2pm, and at a new, yet to be decided location.

Other events in the works include a POW/MIA Service at the Traveling Wall on November 6 as well as the Women Veterans Rose Petal Ceremony and Military Gala on November 9.

We will reveal more about Branson’s Veterans Homecoming Week 2013 as details become available.
